Hi. My name is Rich Carlsen.

I retired way too early, and have way too much time on my hands. I love Sarasota and Sarasota people. I love the history of Sarasota and the debate about it's future.

I don't love the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. I believe a newspaper's job is to inform, not persuade, the citizenry. As a subsidiary (and parrot) of the New York Times, it offers the predictable "progressive" point of view. Not my cup of tea...as you will see.
